Grants

DDWS to award annual school conservation education grants

The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society (DDWS), with J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, annually awards grants up to $1,000 each to five or more Lee County Schools for conservation education-related projects.

Schools may use the grant money to purchase teaching aids, books, and classroom materials; fund new classroom science projects; take field trips; or conduct work projects in the community.

For the 2010 grants, all Lee County School teachers are invited to submit environmental education- or science-related unit proposals by Oct. 31, 2010. The approved proposals will be awarded in December 2010 for projects to be completed by May 2011.

For an application, click here or contact Doris Hardy at hardydd@comcast.net or Gary Ogden at 472-1100 ext. 233.
