To All Lee County Teachers and Staff:
 
The J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society would like to announce the donation of $5,000 to Lee County Schools for conservation education-related projects.  This money can be used to purchase teaching aids, books, and classroom materials, fund new classroom science projects, take field trips, and conduct work projects in your community or beyond.  All Lee County Schools are invited to submit Environmental Education or Science related unit proposals.
 
These projects should reflect the mission of the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society, a not-for-profit friends group working with the Refuge and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to promote and enhance environmental education.
 
Criteria for projects:
Projects should have an Environmental Education, Science, Math, Language Arts, or Conservation focus
Each proposal should not exceed $1,000
Approved projects will be awarded December 2012.  There will be NO extensions this year.
Projects must be completed by end of school year May 2013 with proper documentation submitted, including receipts.
