Artist 'in Residence'

In the spirit of our namesake, Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling - artist and Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist - we hosted our third Artist in Residence program in 2022-2023, featuring Miami artist Jacqueline Roch. Because of the interruption Hurricane Ian caused during her term, we have extended Jacqui's reign as Artist-in-Residence through the 2023-2024 season

Stay tuned to this page for further art events with Jacqui through June 2024. She showed her Refuge-inspired work at the Visitor & Education Center auditorium earlier this year, as has become artist-in-residence tradition. Her next appearance will be leading a Community Mural creation for Art in the Wild on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
